We encourage customers in most countries to order directly from Hooke in the USA. We also accept orders placed through Fisher and VWR, but there may be some delay before we receive the order.
China, India, and Japan are exceptions - due to complex customs clearance procedures in those countries, we strongly recommend that customers order through a distributor:

Many of our prices drop approximately 20% on the 2nd and succeeding item; we will apply further discounts for quantity orders for the same product (single catalog number) to be shipped on the same day (see table at right).
We work hard to offer fair and transparent prices. Because most of our products have a short shelf life, we prepare each order fresh. These discounts reflect efficiencies from reducing waste by making larger daily batches and sending fewer packages.
We do not offer any other discounts.
A few products (primarily fresh cell products) have a lead time described on the product page.
All other products are available for immediate ordering and in stock unless marked as "backordered" or "coming soon" on our products page. We will contact you immediately in case of any delays in filling your order (please provide a contact email address & phone number when ordering).
Product stability and storage information is listed in the "Storage & stability" section of each product page. The detailed product page is accessible from our main products page by clicking on the catalog number of the product.
Please note that stability periods are from the date of preparation, which is the same day we ship your order.
Our invoice terms are Net 30 days. We accept institutional purchase orders as well as credit cards – Amex/MC/Visa.
We invoice electronically; please provide an email address or fax number for your invoice.

Because most orders are custom-prepared, we can't accept cancellations after we've started preparation of your order. We will accept cancellations before that - there will be no charge if we haven't yet started work or ordered materials for your order.
Many of our products are shipped in insulated packages, on ice (gel packs; for products requiring refrigeration) or dry ice (frozen products). Hooke Kits™ are shipped on ice (gel packs) in insulated packaging.
On receipt, immediately store products in a refrigerator (2 to 8 C) or freezer (-20 °C, or -80 °C for tissue products), according to the labelling on the package.
USA orders ship via FedEx Priority Overnight. We normally ship US orders every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (holidays excepted; rush orders can ship on Mondays). To avoid possible thawing over the weekend, we do not ship to US destinations on Friday.
Orders received by 5pm Boston time normally go out the next shipping day. You will receive an airbill/confirmation number from FedEx via email.
Shipping is charged at FedEx's published rates to your location. If you prefer, we can bill shipping to your institutional FedEx account.
As of 2020, overnight shipping in the US is typically $50 to $175, depending on your distance from Boston. For a more accurate estimate, please use FedEx's rate finder. (Choose "Use an already scheduled pickup".) We ship from zip code 01843. Package weight on most orders is 5 to 7 lbs. (including gel packs or dry ice).
International orders ship via FedEx International Priority. To minimize the chance of thawing over the weekend due to customs-related delays, international orders ship on the following schedule:

Your invoice will include a payment address as well as wire instructions, if you wish to pay by bank wire transfer.
Hooke cannot be familiar with import requirements in every country. We will provide a commercial invoice for customs with your order. Customers are responsible for any required import clearance documentation, fees, tariffs, or taxes. Our products fall under the following harmonized tariff codes:
